Celebrating Father’s Day at Turramurra Kind
Father’s Day is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the special people in our children’s lives, and this year we enjoyed a very special afternoon with the dads in our Turramurra Kindergarten community.
We were delighted to welcome our dads into the kindergarten to spend quality time with their children, share in their experiences and create some special memories together.
A Special Musical Welcome
The afternoon began with a beautiful musical performance from our children.
The children sang “You Are My Sunshine” for their dads, creating a very special moment to start the celebration. Seeing the children perform for their families was a wonderful reminder of the confidence and joy that can grow through music and shared experiences.
Creativity and Connection
The afternoon continued with plenty of opportunities for children and dads to be creative together.
Children created special drawings of their dads, while the dads had the chance to draw their children too. These simple creative experiences encouraged children and families to share conversations, laughter and plenty of smiles.
We also presented our very special “Best Dad” awards — and, of course, every dad was a winner!
Learning Through Play
One of the afternoon’s highlights was our parachute play.
Together, the children and dads worked as a team to move the parachute up and down as quickly as they could, creating our own version of “popcorn” flying into the air.
It was lots of fun, but it also encouraged teamwork, cooperation, coordination and communication — showing how much learning can happen through active play.
A Friendly Football Competition
We also headed outdoors for a friendly game of football between the children and dads.
There was plenty of energy, enthusiasm and laughter on the field. The children were certainly confident that they were winning!
Moments like these give children the opportunity to share their interests and experiences with the people who are important to them, while building positive connections between families and our kindergarten community.
Celebrating Our Families
At Turramurra Kindergarten, we value the important role families play in children’s early learning and development. Events such as Father’s Day provide a wonderful opportunity for families to be involved in kindergarten life and experience the learning environment alongside their children.
Most importantly, the afternoon was about spending time together, having fun and creating memories that our children can treasure.
A big thank you to all the dads who joined us and helped make the celebration so special.
