Meet Our Chef Maya: Supporting Little Learners at Turramurra Kindergarten
At Turramurra Kindergarten, every member of our team contributes to creating a welcoming environment where children can learn, play and grow. Today, we're pleased to introduce Maya, one of the newest members of our kindergarten community.
Maya has been part of our team for around a month and is already enjoying her experience working with us.
Helping Make Mealtimes Special
Maya works in our kitchen, where she prepares meals for the children and helps with the daily tasks that keep our kindergarten running smoothly. From food preparation and washing dishes to general kitchen duties, her work supports the children's daily routines and mealtimes.
With previous experience in hospitality and food preparation, Maya brings practical skills and an understanding of the care and organisation involved in preparing food for others.
Mealtimes are an important part of the day in early childhood settings. Having a team working behind the scenes helps ensure these everyday routines run smoothly, allowing children to enjoy their meals as part of their kindergarten experience.
Studying Biodiversity and Conservation
Outside of her role at Turramurra Kindergarten, Maya is studying Biodiversity and Conservation at university, with the goal of becoming a conservation biologist.
Her studies focus on the natural world, an area that offers many opportunities to learn about plants, animals and the importance of caring for our environment.
It's lovely to have team members with different interests and aspirations, each bringing their own experiences and perspectives to our community.
A Warm Welcome to Maya
Although Maya has only been with us for a short time, she's enjoying her new role and being part of the Turramurra Kindergarten team.
While educators play a central role in children's learning, the wider team also makes an important contribution to their everyday kindergarten experience. From preparing meals to maintaining the kitchen and supporting daily routines, every role matters.
We're delighted to have Maya as part of our community and look forward to seeing her continue to grow in her role.
Welcome to Turramurra Kindergarten, Maya!
