At Turramurra Kindergarten, we value educators who are passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences and building strong connections with children.

We’re pleased to introduce Samana, a new member of our educator team.

Meet Samana

Samana is currently completing her Bachelor of Early Childhood Education at Ikon, and she is now in her final year of study.

Before joining Turramurra Kindergarten, Samana spent a year working at Erina Kindergarten, gaining valuable experience in early childhood education. She has recently joined the Turramurra team and is looking forward to getting to know our children and families.

A Passion for Play-Based Learning

One of Samana’s key interests is creating fun and engaging learning environments where children feel comfortable to explore, discover and learn.

She believes children's own interests can be a valuable starting point for learning.

By getting to know what children are interested in, Samana can use their ideas to help develop play-based experiences that encourage them to participate, experiment and explore.

Following Children's Interests

Every child is different, and their interests can provide educators with valuable insights into how they learn and engage with the world.

Samana enjoys observing children's interests and extending their ideas through learning experiences.

For example, a child's interest in animals, construction, art or imaginative play can become the starting point for further exploration.

This approach gives children opportunities to be active participants in their learning rather than simply following a set activity.

Creating a Supportive Learning Environment

For Samana, creating a positive learning environment is also about helping children feel comfortable and supported.

She is passionate about creating spaces where children can:

  • Explore their interests

  • Ask questions

  • Express their ideas

  • Develop confidence

  • Learn through play

  • Build relationships with educators and friends

A supportive environment can give children the confidence to try something new, make discoveries and learn from their experiences.

Learning Through Play

Play is an important part of early childhood learning.

Through play-based experiences, children can develop a wide range of skills while engaging with topics and activities that interest them.

Samana enjoys creating learning opportunities that allow children to explore their ideas through hands-on experiences, creativity and imagination.

By following children's interests, educators can help make learning relevant, enjoyable and meaningful.

Welcoming Samana to the Team

We’re delighted to welcome Samana to Turramurra Kindergarten.

As she continues her Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, she brings enthusiasm, creativity and a genuine interest in supporting children's learning and development.

We look forward to seeing the connections she builds with our children and families and the learning experiences she creates along the way.
